Dan Aykroyd has revealed that he once saved Carrie Fisher 's life as he paid tribute to her.
He spoke at a public memorial service held for the late star and her mother Debbie Reynolds .
The ceremony was being held at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, the cemetery that is their final resting place, in honour of the mother and daughter, who sadly died within two days of each other last year.
The Star Wars actress's life was left in peril when she choked on a Brussels sprout - and Dan came to her rescue.

The actor also paid tribute to his ex-fiancée, joking that she openly tried to rekindle her romance with singer Paul Simon while they were dating.
"From beginning to end - sharp, hilarious, plunging, laughing, whooping, soaring, exhilarating Carrie," he said.
"She had long conversations on the phone in my presence with Paul Simon with whom she was attempting to reconcile at the time of my relationship with her.
"Here I found myself in love with a woman who was returning to a former intimate, and might I say a better choice."

Ghostbusters star Dan then revealed what happened with the Brussels sprout.
"If I'd been with our beloved showboat I might have been able to save her again," he added.
A number of relatives of Carrie and her mum attended the service, along with the star's beloved dog Gary.
A photo montage was played to You're Beautiful by James Blunt, a close friend of Carrie who wrote the song in her bathroom.
The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles also performed a rendition of True Colours.
