Kidnapped son of Frank Sinatra

Super popular American singer and actor Frank Sinatra had a son, also called Frank. Not to mix father and son celebrity decided to call his child Frank Sinatra Junior. The guy was 19 when he was kidnapped. The whole story reminded movies about gangsters. In December 1963, Frank Sinatra and his orchestra were giving a performance in a casino near Lake Tahoe. Frank Sinatra, Jr. lived in a motel, sharing a room with John Foss, the orchestra trumpeter. Suddenly, two men with guns rushed into their room, tied them, placed guys into the trunk and took thim to Los Angeles, 650 kilometers from the place they stayed. John Foss managed to run away and inform the police about kidnapping. Policemen were sure the crime had one goal – to get money from the son of celebrity. They were right. The criminal called Frank Sinatra Senior and asked for a ransom of $240,000. Today this sum would equal approximately $2,000,000. Police advised the singer to pay the money but mark them beforehand. The plan worked well. Soon the criminal was caught. His name was Barry Keenan and the man was a drugs addict. Barry was imprisoned, and Frank Sinatra Jr. lived a long life – he passed away only in 2016.

Stalking Sarah McLachlan

Sarah McLachlan, mega popular Canadian singer has been always a very attractive woman. Even today, when she is coming closer to her 50th birthday, she looks absolutely gorgeous and elegant. This celebrity has always had millions of fans, admirers of her rare talent, passion and strength coming from her soul when the woman is singing. Unfortunately, some of her admirers seemed to be insane. Uwe Vandrei, working as a computer programmer started to write to the singer the letters of love – dozens, hundreds, thousands… The life of a woman turned into a 3-years nightmare lasting from 1991 till 1994. The Moreover, Uwe Vandrei even blamed a singer that she used the words written in his love letters in her songs. The jury proved Sarah McLachlan never used any of the line from these crazy letters. The slaking story had a sad final. In autumn of 1994 the man, crazy fan and rejected “lover” committed suicide.

The fans of “Sherlock” would never see an episode of the popular serial, if the end of the story with Benedict Cumberbatch kidnapping would be different. It happened in South Africa in 2005. Later the actor confessed he was scared to death when the group of six bandits tied him with ropes and placed into the trunk. The celebrity said they were constantly shouting asking for money and drugs. Benedict asked them if they would kill him. The criminals did not say a word and through the actor out of the car. The man was sure – he would be shut. However, those 6 men had another plans. They simply left celebrity on the road. A local stranger found him and helped the man getting back to his hotel. Police did not find these criminals. As Benedict Cumberbatch says, that incident left a serious imprint on his life values and priorities. He loves life now even more and tries not to risk ever.

Anyone who would decide to kidnap a singer of the famous band “The Supremes” had to choose Diane Ross. Firstly, she was unusually gorgeous and beautiful and secondly, she was never replaced with another young singer. However Charles Collier, the man who had a decision to kidnap a singer, was thinking differently. He supposed that Diane was too much famous, and he did not want to have much fuss. Thus, his choice was another chocolate beauty – Cindy Birdsong. In winter of 1969 Collier rushed into her apartment and, threatening a singer with a long knife, pushed her sitting into his vehicle. After that, the kidnapper changed the manner of his behavior and even made several attempts to become a gentleman. He supposed that driving in a car with a girl on the seat and talking to her was very romantic! However, Cindy Birdsong had absolutely different viewpoint. She disliked the methods that her kidnapper used. When she understood the criminal felt relaxed for a second, she tried cut the ropes. Meanwhile, the singer failed doing that. Then the brave young woman pushed out the automobile’s door and jumped out of the kidnapper’s vehicle.

Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen ― punk tragedy

October 12, 1978 was Sid’s nightmare turned into bloody reality: he found his adorable girlfriend in the puddle of blood and with a knife in her stomach. There was no one else in the room but the singer. Sid Vicious was shocked so much, that he would not even understand that he was blamed in the murder. He was thinking out who was that monster that killed his passionate lover. The lawyer was very experienced, and soon Sid was released on bail of 30 thousand dollars. However, he did not understand how he could live now. In less than 24 hours spent on freedom, Sid was found dead. That was the heroin overdose.

Marvin Gaye was the icon of American soul. The singer with velvet voice had a father who decided to serve God only. His dad was a religious fanatic, the leader of the Seventh-day Adventist sect. Neither Marvin Gaye’s father, nor his mother liked the son’s profession. They supposed – it was a great sin to be a soul singer. The guy started to think about commitment a suicide. In 1970, Marvin had a long depression, which brought him to cocaine addiction. Searching for support in this life, the celebrity decided to return to his parents' home and feel the support he needed so very much. In 1980s he was already 45, but his mind was exhausted. The man could not even suppose that the character of his father could change so much. He started drinking alcohol, continuing blaming everybody in sins. Finally the tragedy happened. Being drunk, his father shut the singer. Some people supposed, the jealous old man suspected his wife had an affair with her own son. The others are sure – religious fanatic man hated his son’s cocaine addiction. Whatever the reason of the crime was, the killed did not go to jail. The jury called the tragedy manslaughter.

David Letterman and his insane fan

David Letterman, popular American comic, always had an army of his talent’s fans. Meanwhile, one of these admirers was a really insane woman. Her name was Margaret Mary Ray. The mature woman started to stalk David, telling the comic she loved him very much. Obsessed woman would bombard the actor and showman with love letters. She called him every day and finally came into his house, swearing she could not live without a man. In 1988 the woman even stole the comic’s automobile. When police caught the crime, the female did not reject she was guilty. She explained to police she was simply in love with David Letterman. Unfortunately, the “love” story had a tragic final. David’s fan supposed that her life had so sense anymore without her object of passion, without sending him letters and seeing him. She committed suicide the same year rushing under the train.

Tupac Shakur death ― hip-hop icon murder

Tupac Shakur was definitely a workaholic in the world of rap and hip-hop music. In 1990s he was called one of the greatest singers of the world. His life that lasted only 25 years was simply overfilled with the events. Born in a very poor family in Harlem, New York, Tupac earned millions of dollars only with his talent and creative activity. Once the band of criminals tried to shoot him and to steal a thick gold chain. Four 4 bullets were stuck in Tupac Shakur’s body and the final one got into his head. However, notorious singer escaped from hospital and rushed to work at new songs. The other attempt to kill the rapper finished with his death in 1996. The musician was shut, but he died in hospital later. Still the murderer is not found and fans of Tupac argue who was that criminal. Many people suppose that that was Orlando Anderson, his opponent and enemy. Before the tragedy Tupac’s people had a fight with Anderson, thus the crime could be revenge.
