THERE’S plenty of talk show hosts that would kill for a sit-down with the President of the United States but
Ellen DeGeneres definitely isn’t one of them.
The reigning queen of daytime television used her interview with Today host Matt Lauer to slam Trump, claiming she isn’t interested in an interview with the president.
“You’re socially aware, at times very outspoken. What’s your relationship with Donald Trump?” Lauer asked her. “Do you know him at all? Have you had a chance to interview him or talk to him?”
“I don’t know him, I mean I know him from Celebrity Apprentice because when we first started the show I think season one or two we went out there and filmed something with him,” DeGeneres said.
“I have not spoken to him since he’s run for president or become president,” she added.

When Lauer questioned the talk show host if she’d ever have him on The Ellen Show, DeGeneres flatly replied, “no”.
“Why not? Why wouldn’t someone like you like to sit down opposite the President of the United States?” Lauer pressed her.
“Because I’m not going to change his mind, he’s against everything that I stand for,” DeGeneres said flatly.
“We need to look at someone else who looks different than us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights,” she added.
DeGeneres’ opinion on Trump is the exact opposite to her feelings about former president Barack Obama, who was a regular on Ellen. Former first lady Michelle also appeared on the daytime show numerous times.

The talk show host even posted a heartwarming tribute to the family on Obama’s last day as President of the United States.
In the video she said, “I want to personally thank him for changing my life. I am a legally married woman because of him, and so is my wife,” referring to Australian actress Portia De Rossi.
“His courage and compassion created equality for everyone. He moved us forward and made more happen in the past eight years than I ever dreamt possible. I love him. I love Michelle.”
