“I Need A God-fearing Husband” – Waje

Sultry Nigerian artiste, Waje who is from Edo State and a single mother of one has disclosed in a recent chat with Saturday beats, that she wants a husband that truly serves God.

Revealing that she can never rule out love from her life, the singer quickly added, “I have not ruled out the concept of love and re-marrying from my life, I can never do that. I look for certain criteria in a man and the first is that he has to be God-fearing. I don’t need a passive God-fearing man; he has to really invest in his faith.

“The only way I can love someone completely and unconditionally is if I experience a bigger kind of love and that is God’s love. I also like a man who is not afraid to be expressive and who is not afraid to support someone who is hard working and in the public domain. He should not put restrictions on me and must know that this is my job and would allow me shine. Also I would want a hardworking person. He does not have to have about $10m in his bank account but when you see someone who is hard working, it means that no matter how many times we fall, we would rise again. He has to be easy on the eyes as well. I don’t care much about his height but he should be a bit tall because I am a tall person.”

OKOROCHA: WHY IGBOS CAN'T PRODUCE THE NEXT NIGERIA PRESIDENT

Imo Governor Okorocha today urged the people of the South East to forget producing the next President of Nigeria in 2019.

He made this known while speaking with Aso Rock reporters after meeting acting President Osinbajo and House Speaker Yakubu Dogara at the Presidential villa in Abuja.

Okorocha also urged all Nigerians to support Buhari for 4 or 8 years tenure in line with the zoning arrangement.

See transcript of his mini speech:

MAN POISONED TWIN DAUGHTERS IN CALABAR

Man Kills Twin Daughters With Acid In Calabar, Says They Killed His Parents With Witchcraft

Rivers State Police have arrested a 40-year-old man, Anyanime Festus, who allegedly poisoned his twin daughters in Akampka Local Government Area of Cross River, because he felt they were responsible for his parents’ death.
The arrest was effected by the Divisional Police Station, Akampka, before the suspect was transferred to Police Headquarters in Calabar.
The suspect allegedly gave his 11-year-old daughters a black substance, believed to be poison to drink, which led to their death on January 10 and 11.
A source said:

“The man told us that his daughters confessed to be witches and that he had no choice other than to kill them before they kill him.

So he mixed acid with malt, took the twins to a bush path and gave them the substance to drink.” Another source, who pleaded anonymity. “The twins were always wandering the streets. When brought back home by strangers, Festus usually chased them out again without food. Sometimes they were locked up and not given food for days.”

Investigation revealed that before the fateful day, the girls had been incarcerated for about three days before their father let them out under the pretence of taking them to school before he took them to a bush path and poisoned them.

A dying girl’s revelation An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, told Vanguard that before one of the girls died, she revealed to them that their father took them from the house to a bush path at Nyaghasan on a bike. He brought out a black substance and gave to them to drink.

She said they drank it, but because the substance was bitter, she refused the second portion, but her sister drank it.

According to the source, “she said after a while they started having stomach ache and complained to their father, who then pretended as if he was going to get a remedy and in the process he left them there and never came back. “Not too long after, they started feeling dizzy and then fell asleep. When she woke up and tapped her sister, she was no longer breathing.

“The deceased said she had to drag her sister’s lifeless body from the bush to the road. It was in the process that a good Samaritan saw them and informed the police, who then took both of them to Akamkpa General Hospital, where she died at about 3:40a.m., January 11.

When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the incident, said since the incident happened three weeks ago, they had been on the suspect’s trail.

Ugbo said: “We have apprehended the suspect; he was brought from Akamkpa this morning (Monday) to the headquarters

He confessed that he gave his daughters acid mixed with malt to drink because he had a premonition that they would kill him like they killed his parents.

“He had the belief because they confessed to him that they were witches. So he carried out the dastardly act to save his life first.”

WHY MY MARRIAGE STILL STAND AFTER 15 YEARS - RAMSEY NOUAH

Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah recently agreed to an interview with Premium Times .

In this tell-it-all interview conducted at Eko Club in Surulere Lagos, the 46-year-old actor talked  at length about his marriage and his beautiful wife, Emelia Phillips Nouah.

See excerpts:

Aside from acting what have you been up to lately?

I have been spending time with my family. Whenever the need arises, I get involved in humanitarian and charitable activities. It has been more about film, family and giving back to the society.

Ramsey, your marriage appears to have stood the test of time. You have been married for 15 years now. Some of your colleagues have been unlucky in this regard.

ontrary to a widely held notion, the success of a marriage largely rests on the woman. But these days, a lot of marriages are based on equality. A woman wants to get 50 per cent of whatever she is giving into the marriage back from the man. This has led to the breakdown of many marriages. From time our mothers used to be the women that held their marriages. They were in charge of the home. Our mothers took charge of everything but today women don’t want that kind of responsibility. Hence, it is affecting marriages.

So, your wife has fared well in this regard?

My wife belongs to the category of “our mothers”. She believes in sustaining our marriage and holding it strong.
So whenever I am asked how we have been able to keep it together, I tell them my wife is the woman who has actually held our home.

Do you also accord her rightful place in the home?

She doesn’t have a place because she owns the home. It’s her call however (way) she wants things done. She is the driver of the family and her decision is final. That is why I say she is not an ordinary woman. She is a triple woman.

Is she comfortable with your romantic and kissing scenes?

When some people ask me “how does your wife cope when she sees you kissing other women in the movie?” and I tell them that my wife is special. She is not an ordinary woman. She understands things in a way many other women don’t. That is why I say, an actor or actress, has to find that special person. It is not love that will bond you. Forget love, love dies. What sustains the marriage is companionship.

If you cannot find companionship in your partner from the beginning, then you do not have a partner. Don’t lust after a woman because of her beauty and don’t lust after a guy because he is handsome. You must lust after the companionship that bonds you together. It should be like “for some reasons you cannot do without her; for some reasons there is something about her that brings you home”. It may be her sense of humour; or the way she keeps the home. Same thing applies for the ladies; there must be something about him that you cannot do without. If this quality is not there, then you don’t have a companion.

So, you guys have had it smooth sailing in your marriage all the while?

Don’t get me wrong, don’t think that do have our moments of disagreement. But it depends on the way we handle it. Women cannot stand the heat in the kitchen anymore and they just want to run. That is why marriages are crumbling. A lot people don’t want to work hard anymore, because marriage is hard work. So when you talk about marriages crashing, it’s not my call. The only problem that I have is to make sure I provide food for the family.

Any counsel for your colleagues who have been unlucky with love and marriage?

Nobody gives advice when it comes to matters of the heart. People say they are going for counseling and all but at the end, it is what is in their heart is still what they want to do. Because those things in your heart are laced with emotions and emotions are very hard to tackle. When you have emotion that is full of jealousy, hate or anger, it is hard to break it until you exercise it. That is why when your dad screams ‘do not follow that boy’ the teenager does not listen until she has satisfied what her heart desires from the boy. Most times, you learn by experience. Companionship is not easy. When everybody is running into marriages as if marriage wants to go out of fashion, take your time and be ready for it. Be ready to accept someone with his flaws. My wife has her problems and I also have mine. A lot of it actually and I know. You must be able to accommodate the other person.

Divorce is on the rise. Why do you think this is so?

When a woman believes she earns more than the man, the man should start doing the work of a woman like sweeping, changing diapers. There is no sense in that. A woman’s place should not change and the same applies to the man. I am not expecting a woman to overwork herself with house chores. I help and support my wife when there is no help in the house. I sweep when I have the time.

In what ways do you also help out in the home?

I cooked two days before having this interview. I am a great cook. No woman can do shakara for me oo. I made my stew and rice with smoked chicken. I grew up with my mum and with her, you must know how to sweep and do many other chores.

Are you romantic?

Don’t judge me by my movie roles. I don’t think I am romantic. My wife does not think I am that romantic either.

Many people wonder why you do not step out with your wife on the red carpet?

My wife and I have an understanding. And this is one of the reasons our marriage is still standing strong. We avoid the public eye because the public has a way of messing up relationships. Sometimes, my wife goes ahead of me into the event, so we don’t do red carpet. It is the same people that harass you for not taking your wife to red carpet event that will sit back and point fingers at how you both look.

Some say you don’t take your wife to red carpet event because she is not beautiful?

ramsey nouah wife natural beautyemelia phillips nouah

That is what they think. My wife is very cute. May be because my wife is not loud or flashy when it comes to make-up or wearing long weaves. She is very natural and she knows that I love her natural looks.

ROCHAS SEEMS TO BE DREAMING TO SAY THIS (MUST READ)

“There is a vaccum of leadership in the South-East APC. I am a Governor. My brothers Chris Ngige and Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu are ministers.” Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, who recently joined the party was named as leader of the APC in the South-East. I declined leadership of Ndi-Igbo in APC. “With Ken Nnamani, the question of who is the leader of APC in the Southeast has been answered.

Ken Nnamani is the leader of APC in the South-East. “Senator Nnamani should then work with other leaders like Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Jim Nwobodo and a host of others to give Ndi-Igbo Political direction. “Those who have joined the Party or who want to join should do so to build the Party and not to cause confusion. APC is the right Party for the Igbo and the only Party that can guarantee Igbo Presidency”. We are also going to use the Anambra election to show that APC has arrived Southeast. “The Igbo played bad politics in 2015. Today we have lost a lot. We are not anywhere because of our bad politics.” ”

I MADE KCEE WHAT HE IS TODAY - HARRY SONG

Former member, Five Star music, Harrysong, has claimed that it was actually Kcee who begged him on ‘bended knees’ to help salvage his dying career.

Last Friday, Harrysong was arrested by Five Star music and shortly after his release, the record label claimed that the Reggae Blues crooner had profusely begged Kcee to sign him into the label some years ago.

According to Five Star Music, Harrysong was fond of abandoning contracts halfway which was one of the reasons he left his first record label, QuestionMark Entertainment.

In a swift reaction, Harrysong’s new record label, Altar Plate released a statement signed by the company’s media manager, Desmond Ike -Chima, on Sunday, where Harrysong also claimed that he was not arrested by the police, rather he was invited by officers from the Onikan Police Station in Lagos.

The statement reads, “It was 8 am and policemen acting on the instruction of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Onikan, stormed our hotel room to invite Harrysong over for questioning.

“As a law abiding citizen with nothing to fear, we got dressed up and went to the AIG’ s office. On getting there, we were greeted by the presence of a haggard looking young man in cheap suit, identified as Five Star Music’s lawyer.

“As against the kangaroo statement released by Five Star Music, Harrysong did not at any time approach anyone or company to sign him; it was Kcee [who] approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career after he fell out with his then partner [Presh].

“As much as Harrysong loved to help him out in that time of need, it is worthy of note that Kcee is talentless and knows next to nothing about music.

“Harrysong had a running contract with Questionmark Records, but out of desperation, Kcee and Five Star Music were prepared to pay off Kelvin Luciano in their quest to have Harrysong at all cost.

“It should be recalled that Harrysong succeeded in recreating Kcee’s sound, as he wrote and co – produced hits including Had it been I know, Okpekete.

“Limpopo, Pull Over and other songs that defined the Kcee that everyone now knows and celebrates today.

“For what it’ s worth, Harrysong’s dealing with Five Star Music was with the clause that he would be left to pursue his career whenever he deemed it fit. For the records, Altarplate has come to stay and the general public can do business with Harrysong and Alterplate management.”

YUL EDOCHIE IN PAINFUL EXPERIENCE

Yul Edochie
Yul Edochie is a Nigerian actor who is renowned to be one of the most unique players in the industry.
Yul who is named after popular Russian actor Yul Brynner, is the son of Nigerian actor Pete Edochie.
Recently, the actor shared a story about what he experienced when he walked into a restaurant.
According to him, he sat to eat when someone behind him, obviously a Nollywood hater, began to say some very nasty things against the industry.
Yul revealed that he however sat down without saying a word until the man finished.
Below is how he put the story:

ANGRY GIRL WAS ARRESTED FOR PUTTING MENSTRUAL BLOOD IN CUSTOMER'S CHEESEBURGER

An 18-year-old girl, Sky Juliett Samuel is facing five years in jail after she allegedly licked and smeared her own menstrual blood on a cheeseburger before serving it to a unsuspecting customer at the fast food restaurant where she worked.

The incident occurred on January 7 at a Jack’s Family Restaurant in the town of Columbus. After a heated exchange where insults were traded with a female customer, Sky allegedly spread her bodily fluids on the burger, before handing it over at the drive-thru window around 10 pm.

IT WAS AN EXCITING EXPERIENCE VISITING A MOSQUE IN ABU DHABI - A CHRISTIAN GIRL DECLARES

Toyosi couldn’t hide her joy after visiting the mosque
A Christian girl from Nigeria has shared her touching experience after paying a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The girl urged fellow Nigerians to readjust their orientation and refuse to allow fanaticism to blind their eyes from accepting other people and their religion.
Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji visited the mosque for an event with her colleagues from Harvard. According to her, institutionalized religion has affected Nigeria badly that they look at other religions with a very bad eye while forgetting that we all serve the same God whether as Christians or Muslims.

“1Chronicles 4:10 – “Oh Lord, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.”
That you will give the Leaders of my Country the vision of leadership, the commitment to be upright and the understanding that Political Leadership is not rocket science.
Let me say this – A Nation that uses her resources for the good of the land and the people MUST prosper. This is physical as much as it is spiritual. There’s too much bloodshed, inequality, corruption and unintentional grandstanding against the Poor, ordinary and downtrodden in Nigeria. That’s why we are where we are. God will not give us more till we use what we have.

 BAD LEADERSHIP IS OUR CURSE.

We fix that, everything will fall in line.
As a Christian, “Lifting Up my eyes to the Hills” in a Mosque felt quite unusual but then, my orientation and personal belief is that Institutionalised Religion keeps one a fugitive and that we all serve the same God whether as Christians or Muslims.
Life is Simple, it’s we human beings that make it complicated.
The more we learn to live together, the more we’re all at peace individually with God.
Anyway, this is still part of our Government Innovation and Public Policy Field Trip and I’m now more depressed than I was initially thrilled.

I mean, Nigeria is so rich yet our people are so poor.
I now see what the UAE has been doing differently.
I’ll share more of my findings shortly.
Let’s see if I can create a simple, smart, workable blueprint for each Sector.
I’ll give you an analysis of how this beautiful Mosque embodies the history of the Emirates tomorrow.” she wrote.

2FACE LEADS MASSIVE NATIONWIDE PROTEST AGAINST THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

FIRST MASSIVE NATIONWIDE PROTESTS ON THE 5TH OF FEBRUARY, 2017.

A call for good governance.
A call for urgent explanation into the reckless economic downturn nationwide.
A call for nationwide protests as we say No to the Executive, No to legislatures, No to judiciary… You have all failed us.
We the people are tired. We can no longer continue with all of you. All your excuses and mistakes are not funny. We do not wish to continue with a system and government that is not working but afflicting the people. We the people of this country not living under the privileges of government allowances and remuneration have now accepted to take the bull by the horn to come out and protest this obnoxious and baseless policies and excuses of the government of the day.

Where are the recovered looted funds?
Why do we still have the executive arms and legislatures still enjoying their salaries and allowances while we hear there’s no money to pay workers?
Why do we still see ceaseless power failures with no explanation and hope of getting out of it unlike before?
Why do we keep seeing peace talks in Niger Delta, fulani heardsmen and ipob without any solutions being reached, while the strategies keeps aggravating the people involved as political leaders stage forums to extort funds in the name of addressing their subjects?
Why did we have petrol price rise to 145 for the sake of global oil price crash and removal of subsidy but such price is still being maintained despite significant re-awakening of the oil price from $30/barrel to $56/barrel?
Who is to be held accountable for the sudden and continuous hike in price of commodities in the market, where for the first time in history, Nigeria is suddenly selling kerosene at 400 naira per litre as against 50 naira per litre, diesel at 300 naira per litre as against 100 naira per litre and petrol from 87 naira to 145 naira? Yet maintaining the same systems, environment and maybe a lesser money spending government.

There’s need for Nigerians to rise against what is happening in this country having waited patiently for the legislatures that were elected to represent the people all to no avail.

THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON'S DEATH REVEALED

Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, who was on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, revealed to the magazine that she is convinced that her father Michael Jackson was murdered. She says claims that he died from a drug overdose was false and she believes it is “obvious” to all his family and true fans.
In regards to the rumours that her father could possibly have been murdered, she responded:
“It’s obvious”.”All arrows point to that. It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like bulls**t, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bulls**t.”
When asked who could have wanted to kill her father, she said “a lot of people” had issues with him. She continued:
“Of course I want justice”. “I definitely do, but it’s a chess game. “And I am trying to play the chess game the right way. And that’s all I can say about that right now.”

18 year old Paris added that her father was paranoid that there were mysterious people who were “out to get him”.
“And at some point he was like, ‘They’re gonna kill me one day,’” she said.
She also talked about how suicidal she was in her teenage years, admitting that she’d tried to commit suicide several time by the time she was finally hospitalised for a residential therapy programme.
She added that her mental health deteriorated after she was sexually assaulted by a stranger when she just 14 years old.
“I don’t wanna give too many details,” she told the magazine, “but it was not a good experience at all, and it was really hard for me, and, at the time, I didn’t tell anybody.”

BUHARI DESERVES PRAYERS, NOT ILL WISHES - OSHIOMHOLE

A former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, on Saturday criticised those saying President Muhammadu Buhari, who is on vacation in the United Kingdom, has died.

Oshiomhole, who spoke to journalists at his hometown in Iyamho, Estako-West Local Government Area, shortly after voting during Saturday’s House of Representatives by-election for Etsako federal constituency, noted that the dust generated by the vacation was unnecessary.

According to him, the President, as a citizen, is entitled to a period of rest and medical checkup.

He explained “I think it is unnecessary. Let us be honest. As the governor of Edo State, we have had to sponsor. Nigerian medical doctors who requested for it in black and white that they had to be treated in India, the UK or the US and they gave me several reasons why they needed foreign medical check.”

Oshiomhole stated that it was unfortunate that some Nigerians preferred to peddle negative speculation to the extreme, rather than wish the President well.

He, therefore, urged Nigerians to be cautious of their utterances.

He said, “We like to speculate the worst. I have been in government; to be honest, the President today, as a retired general, does not need that. The least we owe him is prayer, not the kind of sponsored, negative speculation that, sometimes, you wonder what the people really want.’’

The governor added, “To those who like to speculate bad news, they should not forget the story of (the late Nnamdi) Azikiwe. People went to town to say that Azikiwe was dead. Newspapers wrote editorials about his stewardship and someone constituted himself as the chairman of the burial committee; remember the guy who said that the great tree had fallen.

“Azikiwe, because it was not his time, said that he would attend the funerals of all those who wished him dead. And all those who were members of the funeral committee, one after the other, joined their ancestors while Zik was alive. So, let’s be careful when we speculate ill for others. What we do not wish for ourselves, we should not wish for others.”

RASCALITY DOES NOT KNOW PARTY BOUNDARIES

POLITICAL NOTES, POLITICS COMMENTS By Emmanuel Aziken When Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State cries of being a victim of alleged political contrivances weaved by agents and agencies of the Federal Government he ordinarily should win sympathy from us. It is after all, natural for victims of oppression to garner sympathy. However, when acolytes of the ‘oppressed,’ Wike, in this case, go on to oppress others where they are strong, then it calls for strong concern. The case in point is the ensuing development in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP dominated Rivers State House of Assembly where the majority party decided to foist a minority leader on the All Progressives Congress, APC caucus.

Choosing a leader for your rival or enemy is certainly not a new trick in politics. But it is something that is done with much subtlety. Where you are unable to foist a leader on your rival, you certainly can win over the leader as has been severally demonstrated by the political opposition at the federal and state levels in Nigeria. However, what the majority did in the Rivers State House of Assembly, neither falls into either category. The APC caucus members in the state House of Assembly had on January 19, presented Josiah Olu as their leader and had as according to parliamentary convention brought his name forward to the House floor for ratification. Once Olu was nominated, Sam Ogeh, a PDP member presented another APC member, Frederick Anabraba for ratification as the APC leader. Interestingly, Ogeh’s nomination of Anabraba was seconded by another PDP member, and because the PDP has the majority, Anabraba was elected by 15 votes garnered from the PDP members against the 8 votes garnered by Olu from fellow members of the APC.

What happened in the Rivers State legislature runs against the spirit of commonsense that parliamentarians everywhere in the world tend to show. By foisting its choice of leadership on the APC in the House, the PDP majority in the House has shown a poor lack of tact and taste in its tolerance of opposition. Vicious political tackles are not only expressed across political parties but sometimes, also within political boundaries. Unfolding developments in the Northwest caucus of the APC has shown that the party in the zone could implode anytime soon. In Kano the incumbent governor and immediate past governor who are both members of the APC are virtually on a war path with both factions sizing up the actions and inactions of one another for political gain. In Kaduna State, the party leadership has put the state’s most vocal senator, Shehu Sani at arm’s length and extended a suspension slammed on him. Even worse is the emerging news that the house of a prominent party chieftain opposed to a very senior state official was recently been earmarked for demolition. In the South-South, the internal tackles in the Akwa Ibom chapter of the APC overflowed last Monday when the party’s penultimate governorship candidate, Senator John Akpanudoedehe was expelled for anti-party activities. Akpanudoedehe who almost on his own fought the combined team of Godswill Akpabio and Umana Umana in 2011, is alleged not to have fully embraced Umana when he fell out with Akpabio and joined the APC in 2014. Akpanudoedehe was bound to have reacted with caution when his former foe, Umana sought to become a friend in 2014. The management of the crisis in the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the APC is reflective of the way the crises in other chapters of the party have also been poorly managed. The same story is also told in Delta State. The “expulsion” of Akpanudoedehe is certain to further polarise the party in Akwa Ibom, but for those in control of the party, it is an action needed to enforce dominance.
